Ron started in the tire business with Atlantic Tire in September 2016 the Monday after he married his wife Hunter. After 3.5 years in outside sales he transitioned to the sales manager position and his family moved from Raleigh to Edenton. Soon after moving they welcomed their baby girl Ava Collins to the family, joining their first born William Levin who was born in March of 2018. Ron is an avid supporter of the Duke University Baseball program after earning a 4-year varsity letter for the Blue Devils before graduating in 2008. Outside of work he spends much of his time outdoors golfing, hunting, fishing, and cooking the wild game he harvests in Eastern North Carolina.
JR Lane has been in the tire business for 13 years and with Atlantic Tire 11 years. Besides wholesale, he spent 2 years in retail. He loves outside sales because every day brings something different. He specifically enjoys meeting new people and building relationships with customers as they are more than just an account. He also enjoys educating customers so they may service their consumers to the best of their abilities.
When he’s not working JR enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, bowling and Drag racing! His wife’s name is Shelby and they have a daughter (Shauna, 15) who is attending Johnston County Early College, as well as a dog named Mia.
Ryan joined Atlantic Tire in April 2021. He changed his first tire at 11, was doing road service on-farm and commercial tires after school by the time he was 16 and has been in the tire industry for close to 35 years. Ryan knows he may not always be the only call his customer makes but tries to be the first, by knowing the product and having honest answers for his customers.
Ryan learned much of the farm tractor and tire business working with his father as a boy but learned a lot more about the makings of a good man from him. A post-it note on his desktop is a reminder of the lessons of his father: Listen with curiosity, speak with honesty, and act with integrity.
Ryan has a stepdaughter, Raechel (29), and stepson, Zach (23), but you’ll never hear him call them step-anything. He’s been married to his wife, Robyn, for seven years, and looks forward to many more great years. He is a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoys working in the garden and around his yard, and traveling.
Ali Khan has been involved in the tire business since 1997. He started in Georgia in a retail, aftermarket wheel tires and accessories shop. Ali worked with two distributors in wheel distribution as a regional representative in Virginia and managed an automotive tire and repair store there. His favorite part of sales is the interaction with clients and attending to their needs. He appreciates the ability to be flexible in order to exceed customer expectations.
In his free time, Ali enjoys culinary adventures and exploring new recipes. He also enjoys time with family and friends, and their dogs. His lifelong passion for cars has had him supporting pit crew rolls in SCCA. Ali enjoys the challenge of turning wrenches in personal hobby cars. He currently resides in York county with his wife Sheila and his son, who is in his junior year at George Mason.
Andy Matthews has been in the tire business for 21 years (automotive & tire industry combined), 16 years in the dealership and tire business. The rest of his time was spent in the Army and auto parts retail. He has been with Atlantic Tire 7 years. Part of his work resume involved time with General Motors and Kia Motors Dealership Fixed Operations. His favorite component of field sales is the face to face interaction with customers.
Outside of work Andy enjoys playing music (playing guitar and piano), duck/turkey hunting, concerts, and Trips to Disney with the family. He has 2 kids (Landon 10 & Eden 7) and 2 dogs (a pit named Sosa and a yellow lab named Cooper)
Andy is a Veteran with the US Army, having served in Iraq from 2003-2004. He has also worked as a diesel mechanic and hydraulics specialist.
Barbara Fulghum has been in the tire business for over 35 years and with Atlantic Tire for 3 years. She has also worked in marketing and accounting in the wholesale tire business. Her favorite component of field sales is the face to face time with customers and traveling to different parts of North Carolina. She is constantly learning new things and meeting new people.
Barbara enjoys spending time with friends and family outside of work. She is married to Tim, and they have 2 adult kids and 2 grandkids with one on the way, as well as a yorkie named “Bella”.
Barbara has always lived in a rural area where farming is very prominent. She loves to fish and hunt for treasures at estate sales and antique malls. They have a country store and grill in the community and hire a lot of high school kids. Other than “putting in tobacco”, the tire business is the only job she has ever had. Her family is very active in the community and local church.
Chris Grooms has been in the tire business for 15 years and with Atlantic Tire since late 2019. In 2015 he opened an automotive and tire shop. In 2018 a Ford truck caught the shop on fire after business hours and he lost everything he’d put into the business. Chris’s favorite part of sales are the relationships he gets to build with all of his customers.
Having 3 kids involved in sports and other activities doesn’t leave much time for any hobbies. His wife‘s name is Amber and they have a 12 year old son named Dane, a 10 year old daughter named Fallon, and another daughter named Finley who is 9. Chris and Amber also have two dogs, Tara and Big Sam (he’s a miniature schnauzer)!
Danny Lewis has been in the tire business for 20 years: 3 years commercial/retail, retail store manager for 2 years, 17 years wholesale, 4 inside customer service center and 13 outside field sales. He has been with Atlantic Tire for 17 years and his favorite part of sales is building relationships with customers, who become partners. Helping them grow their business and solve issues/problems is very rewarding.
Outside of work, Danny enjoys spending time with family and friends, spending time outdoors, yard work, and attending and volunteering at his church. He is the proud husband of Cindy and father of Amy. Amy has been married to Josh for 2 years, and a nurse 9 years. He and Cindy are hoping for a grandchild soon.
Greg Bunn has been in the tire business for 32 years and with Atlantic Tire for 5. He started out working in a warehouse for 2 years, then moved to retail for 25 years and has spent the last 5 years in wholesale. His favorite part of sales is the relationships he builds with customers.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, traveling, and time at the beach. Greg’s wife is Leigh and they have a cat named Dunkin.
Jason Smith has been in the tire business for 18 years and with Atlantic Tire for 9. Prior to working in wholesale, Jason spent 6 months in retail at Merchants Tire. His favorite component of field sales is having the freedom to make his own day and help new customers.
Jason has been married to Tricia for 20 years and they have three children. Tyler is a senior at Great Bridge High and will be attending Shenandoah University and running cross country. Tanner is a sophomore who plays second base at Great Bridge High, and Juliauna is an eighth grader at Great Bridge Middle who is an accomplished Worlds Irish dancer.
Joe Edwards has been in the tire business for 32 years and with Atlantic Tire for 14. Besides wholesale, he spent 2 years in retail sales. His favorite part of field sales is meeting people and becoming friends and business partners. When he’s not working, he enjoys fishing and hunting. Joe is married to Sheila and they have 2 kids and 3 grandkids.
Kevin joined Atlantic Tire in the spring of 2021. He has been in the tire industry both
retail and wholesale for a total of 35 years. Kevin enjoys earning and growing business
by offering unparalleled service through integrity and persistence. Being available to
your customers when in need, providing solutions is a key component for a great
partnership. “Everyone needs tires and that is what makes this a great industry to be a
part of.”
Kevin has two kids, Shelby (19) Hayden (14), and a stepson, Ryan (18). He is married
to his best friend, Julie. Enjoys watching his son playing football, daughter dancing,
boating, landscaping, traveling to new destinations, and attending any sporting event.
Mark Williams has been in sales within the tire business for 12 years and joined Atlantic Tire late 2019. He enjoys getting out to meet new people and forging new relationships. Helping customers achieve their goals is very enriching.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. He really enjoys cooking and using the smoker. He has been married for 33 years to the most wonderful lady in the world and has two grown children and one grandson.
Marvin Gurganus has been in the tire business 12 years and with Atlantic Tire for 5. Besides wholesale, he has worked in Retail/Commercial and Motorsports. His favorite part of field sales is building a partnership with Tire dealers and providing the support and products they need to be competitive in their markets.
Outside of work Marvin enjoys kayaking, ATV and Motorcycle Touring, Motorsports and hunting. He is married to Kim and they have 6 grown children and a dog named Cole. After spending many years in all aspects of the Automotive Industry prior to joining the Atlantic Tire team, Marvin understands the challenges our partners experience each and every day. He has spent many days at the counter face to face with customers, in the shops with the technicians, and in the office with management as well, as a past business owner. He understands that dealers need more than a supplier. They need a partner in the business that understands what they face each and every day in this ever changing industry.
Ricky McKinley has been in the tire business for 30 years and with Atlantic Tire for 21. In addition to wholesale, he spent 9 years in retail. His favorite part of field sales is meeting new people and working with them to grow their business.
Outside of work Ricky enjoys playing golf and bowling.
Rob Johnson has been in wholesale tires and parts for 20 years. He has worked in Virginia since 2004.
Smith Roberson joined the Atlantic Tire team in the summer of 2020. He has been in the wholesale tire industry for 9 years and in the automotive industry for 15. Smith grew up in Edenton, NC, and attributes his love of the automotive industry to working in a small town car dealership his family owned. His favorite part of field sales is helping customers grow their business.
Outside of work Smith enjoys golf, traveling and boating. He has been married for 27 years and has two kids attending North Carolina State University.
I was the youngest of six kids born and raised in Charlotte. After high school I joined the Navy and spent eight years as a sonar tech on fast attack submarines. I have been in the tire business now for 11 years. I love the industry mostly because I love the customers whom many I call my personal friends. My hobbies are weekend road trips, antiquing and thrifting with a slight addiction to golf. My daughter Lily will be a freshman at NC State this fall. I am very excited to be with Atlantic Tire and feel very thankful for the opportunity.
